Knowledge Sharing

ADA takes every opportunity to generate learning from her activities, to package this learning and share it broadly locally, nationally and internationally. Knowledge sharing helps to collate diverse perspectives, identify best practices, promotes innovation and foster learning among actors and stakeholders. This enhances coordination and collaboration while ensuring informed decision making for more effective and informed interventions in the future.

We have developed and shared various knowledge products including policy briefs, papers, videos and publications across various platforms and events. These include:

1. International Forums

2. Learning Events

3. Devolution Conference

Capacity Building

ADA plays an important role in building the capacity of stakeholders on devolved climate finance, specifically on the CCCF and locally led adaptation. At the community level, we have capacity built over 100 WCCPCs as well as county government officers i.e County Climate Change  Planning Committees and County Climate Change Steering Committees) in over 37 counties.

In a bid to ensure that this knowledge is institutionalised, we partnered with the Kenya School of Government (KSG) to develop a CCCF Curriculum and Facilitators’ Guide in 2021. This certified course is now available at KSG, particularly targeting county government officers and stakeholders working in the climate change sector.

In collaboration with key climate change actors and partners, we developed a Trainers' Guide for standardized training of  Ward Climate Change Planning Committees (WCCPCs). The use of this guide by climate change stakeholders in all counties is in line with the LLA principle of  investing in local capabilities to ensure understanding of climate risks and uncertainties, generate solutions, facilitate and manage adaptation initiatives over the long term.
