ADA at COP 29

COP 29’s theme, “Enhancing ambition and enabling action in solidarity for a green world” highlights the need to understand the gaps in global climate action by measuring the progress made so far and identifying the existing barriers and areas that need support. COP 29 will be advocating for greater commitments and clear targets from governments, in the upcoming NDCs informed by the first Global Stock Take (GST), and reflect on the critical role of accessible and inclusive climate finance, as a key tool to turn ambition into action and ensure that the world can truly redefine collective ambition, accelerate implementation and enable communities to build resilience to climate impacts.

Adaptation Consortium (ADA) will co-host a side event with the Africa Adaptation Initiative (AAI) at the Climate Mobility Pavilion. The theme of the side event is “Catalysing Climate Resilience in Africa: Leveraging experiences from locally-led and global climate-informed innovative financing models” to be held on 16th Nov. 2024 We will share experiences, insights and lessons learned from ADA’s work in enhancing community resilience through innovative, locally-led climate finance mechanisms.
