County officials drawn from different departments and USAID implementing partners yesterday concluded the 4th Pause and Reflect session for the FY 2021/2022 organised by the Adaptation Consortium (ADA).

The team led by Pauline Makutsa Program Manager ADA Consortium visited Moi County Referral Hospital – Voi for a study tour on the impact of USAID Stawisha Pwani in strengthening County health systems focusing on TB and HIV Prevention and Treatment, Family Planning/ Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition (FP/RMNCAH+N).

USAID Stawisha Pwani Deputy Chief of Party Dr Phillip Masaulo took the team through the Comprehensive Care Clinic where they learnt a lot on the role of county’s strategic partnership with various organizations to promote prevention of new infections and accessibility to quality care and treatment for Persons Living With HIV/AIDS.

They later visited Maternal and child health (MCH) Clinic and interacted with Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) nurse and mentor mother who are playing a key role in offering peer support to HIV-positive pregnant women and new mothers by empowering and educating them about their health and their babies’ health, among other psychosocial health services.
